• What is Penguin Sport-Wash®?
  Penguin Sport-Wash is a new, residue-free laundry detergent, designed specifically to keep high-performance fabrics working and smelling like new.

• Why do I need a special detergent for my high-performance fabrics?
  Penguin Sport-Wash will prolong the life of your high-performance fabrics.  Ordinary detergents leave behind a residue in the form of a scent, brightener and fabric softener.  This residue in a high-performance fabric enables water to get trapped.  Bacteria can grow in both the residue, and the water, which causes the fabric to stink.  Additionally, fabrics wick, breathe better, and dry faster when free of chemical residue.  Penguin Sport-Wash is a residue-free detergent which keeps your high-tech fabrics performing like the day you bought them.  

• Has any testing been done to back its benefits?
  Yes, Penguin Brands, Inc. recently conducted its own wash test with Gore-Tex, and eVent, two high-performance fabrics.  It washed each fabric five times in Penguin Sport-Wash, Tech Wash by Nikwax, (a specialty detergent promoted to maintain High-Tech Outdoor clothing), Tide, and Woolite. The clothing washed in Penguin Sport-Wash received the highest scores in terms of wicking, water repellency, breathing and the ability to dry quickly.  It’s also interesting to note that when the “failed” fabrics were re-washed in Penguin Sport-Wash, their water repellency was restored.        

• Is Penguin Sport-Wash better for the environment than regular detergents?
  Yes, it most certainly is.  It is designated Readily Biodegradable which means that it biodegrades much faster than regular Biodegradable detergents.  Few detergents in the U.S. have earned this designation, which is actually based on the results of an international scientific study. 

• Does Penguin Sport-Wash have competitors?
  There are a couple of products that claim some of the benefits of Penguin Sport-Wash, but our research indicates that these detergents don’t measure up.  Penguin Sport Wash is truly a residue-free detergent.  Some detergents claim to be “detergent-free soap,” but beware – soap rinses very poorly, especially in hard water. 

• Where can I find Penguin Sport-Wash?  How much does it cost?

• Can I use Penguin Sport-Wash for my regular clothes?
  Absolutely – we predict Penguin Sport-Wash is the wave of the future in terms of laundry detergents.  In addition to being better for the environment, it’s safe for all washable fabrics, even those marked “delicate care.”  It will remove tough stains and odors without harming bright colors.
  
  In addition, it can be used in combination with bleach, if need be.

• Will Penguin Sport-Wash help my allergies?
  It most certainly will!  Unlike many regular detergents, which claim to be hypo-allergenic, Penguin Sport-Wash is non-allergic.  Because it is truly “residue-free,” it leaves fabrics feeling softer rather than stiffer, and eliminates rashes, redness and other skin irritations that people with allergies commonly experience from regular detergents.
